Many people do not understand the mind and how it affects our lives when it doesn’t appear to working for our benefit.
The mind is an enigma.
It works behind the scenes and occasionally when it thinks a thought that stands out or is disturbing to us we then become aware of it's rumblings.
There are many things that go into creating patterns of the mind's processing. Nutrition is one of those things…
These nutritional elements can have a profound effect on the brain function and subsequently on how the mind functions. So far, the mind has been typically relegated to the professions of Psychology and Psychiatry, the study of Yoga and to some degree in the performance and positive thinking realms of society.
In general, aside from the "mind games" and "mind over matter" beliefs, the Mind is highly responsive to nutritional support. In recent years, much data has come out on nutritional support for brain and neurotransmitter function which can affect flow of thoughts in an individual. In the Master The Body Clinic, we use amino acids as a strong supporter of neurotransmitter function which undeniably affects mood and of course depression, anxiety and the thought patterns that seem to come with those mental states.
In addition, it can be very important to have some type of practice such as meditation or reflective thought process that helps keep the nervous system balanced between sympathetic (Fight or flight) and the parasympathetic nervous system which has a relaxing effect in the general sense.
In research, a practice such as Meditation has been shown many, many times to be very beneficial for the mind and all other aspects of health due to the balancing of these two aspects of the nervous system.
In the Master The Body Clinic, we use nutritional support along with ancient and modern techniques of Breathing, Exercise and Directive Mind Techniques to help people gain control over their physiology and habitual mental states to improve their health, happiness and strength.
